Peplum & Florals

Peplum Top (Forever21), Floral Skirt via (Simply Chic), Suede Pumps (Nine West), Hobo (Express), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), and Sunnies Tom Ford via (Sunglass Hut Outlet).

My outfit for today is a floral skirt I purchased earlier in the spring at a resale shop called Simply Chic here in Indianapolis.  Although this is my second time wearing the skirt, I decided to pair it with a pink peplum top I purchased from Forever 21 not to long along ago.  I absolutely loved how my outfit turned out, and I also wanted to write a post about it on my blog.  So I decided to pair my skirt with a pink peplum top, yellow hobo, a pair of pink pumps, and sunnies.

I Love my Heart

Blue Sweater (Old Navy), Skinny Jeans (Old Navy), Flats (Nordstrom Rack), Tote (Gucci), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Renegade Bracelet and Devi Bangles via (Stella & Dot) and Basilissa Pave Bracelet (Ily Couture).

For my outfit today I decided to wear a Blue Sweater I picked up at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago.  On the front of this sweater is a big red heart, which I thought made the sweater really cute and fun.  Lately, I've been buying sweaters here and there because the weather here in Indy has been really funky, it's cool to cold in the mornings, warm by the afternoon and cool to cold by the evening.

Which poses a challenge putting together outfits for the day because I don't want to be too cold, but I  don't want to be too hot either.  Also, I haven't switched out my spring/summer clothes for my fall/winter clothes yet either, another reason why I've been buying sweaters because all of mine are still packed away, but unpacking them is just around the corner.  So, I decided to pair my sweater with a dark pair of skinny jeans, brown flats, a Gucci Tote, and gold accessories.

Stripes are Forever

Striped Long Sleeve Shirt (Old Navy), Skinny Jeans (Old Navy), Flats Attilio Giusti Leombruni via (Nordstrom), Tote Tory Burch via (Last Call NM), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Chain Bracelets The Way We Are via (etsy), Lionhead Bracelet via (Jewelmint).

For my outfit today I decided to wear a long sleeve striped shirt I purchased last week from Old Navy that happened to be on sale for $8.  Also, my skinny jeans were purchased there and were on sale for $25.  Score!!  Lately, I've been looking for jeans that fit great, were priced just right, and Old Navy just happened to be the store that had what I was looking for.  Right now online and in store their colored skinny jeans and regular jeans on sale, so I bought a couple of pair of each.  However, since I'm 5'9 I had to order my colored jeans online because they only come in regular length in the store.

I decided to pair my striped shirt with skinny jeans, black flats, an oversized tote, and black and gold accessories.

My First Zipper Pouch

While putting the finishing touches on my Go Green Tote, I realized I had a quite a bit of red fabric leftover, so I decided to make a quick trip to Joann's Fabric Store to pick up some coordinating fabric to make a zipper pouch, Kindle case, and sunglass pouch out of my scraps.  However,  I've never learned how to sew on a zipper, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I eventually figured it out.  So, from start to finish it only took me a couple of hours to complete my pouch and it was so worth it because I made it.  I can't wait to finish my tote and start making my new Kindle case and sunglass pouch.  When I'm done with my tote, I will post photos, so you can see how everything turned out.

Black Dots

Polka Dot Sweater (Old Navy), Capris (Target), Flats Preview International via (Nordstrom), Hobo (Gucci), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay) Chain Bracelets The Way We Are via (etsy), and Sunnies (Forever 21) not shown.

Today I decided to wear a Black & White Polka Dot Sweater I picked up at Old Navy last week and for whatever reason I feel drawn to the fashion trends like polka dots, stripes and animal prints.   However, lately it seems that's what all I've been buying when I go shopping which isn't bad because I really like them all.

Anyway, it seems like its starting to get cold here in Indiana, so maybe it's time for me to unpack my sweaters, boots, scarves, hats, and gloves.  I'm a little excited this year because I really think I'm ready for the winter season to come or at least I'm ready to start wearing my jeans, sweaters, boots, coats, scarves, and hats.  So I decided to pair my sweater with black capris, a hobo, and black and gold accessories.

My First Sewing Project

For today's post I decided to highlight what I've learned thus far in my sewing classes.  While there I learned how to properly read, iron, and cut my pattern.  I also learned how to my pin my pattern to my fabric, cut out my fabric and finally I begun sewing on my machine.  Although I finished my pillowcase at home, I wanted to share with you what I learned in my sewing class.  I can truly say that I'm very proud of myself, so proud that I bought a Go Green Bag Pattern and I will be sewing my first bag.  YEAH!!  Here are the patterns and fabrics that I used for my Pillowcase and Go Green Bag:

A Colorful Top

Merona Top Via (Target), Jeans J Brand via (TJ Maxx), Brown Pumps (Nine West), Tote (Gucci), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Renegade Cluster Bracelet via (Stella & Dot), Gold and Silver Chain Bracelets via The Way We Are Shop via (etsy) and Sunnies House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea via (Amazon) not pictured.

My outfit for today is this colorful top I purchased from Target a little while ago, I bought the matching shorts earlier in the summer but could never find the top that matched.  However, when I went to Target recently I saw the top hanging on the clearance rack I knew I had to buy them.  By the way, my top was only $9.99, it was originally priced at $19.99.

It seems like the weather here in Indy is getting a little cooler, so now I can start wearing my long sleeved tops, blazers, jackets, and pants.  Also, I can't forget the pretty fall colors also.  So, I decided to pair my top with J Brand jeans, a Gucci tote, brown pumps, and gold & silver accessories.

Brown Canvas

Blouse (Old Navy), Jeans MNG by Mango via (JC Penney), Brown Sandals (Nine West), Hobo Onna Ehrlich via (Hautelook), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Basilissa-Pave Bracelet via (Ily Couture), Devi Bangles (Stella & Dot), and Sunnies (Forever 21) not pictured.

For today's outfit I decided to wear a blouse I purchased from Old Navy several months ago off their clearance rack for $6.  However, after buying it for whatever reason I didn't think that I had anything in my closet to pair with it, so it hung in my closet all summer.  On Sunday I decided to take out my two strand twists and I thought what better day to wear my blouse than on Monday, I knew with my big afro, my blouse and pair of shoes I'd have that 70's theme going on.  Of course while taking pictures my oldest son tells me I look like I'm from the 70's with my outfit and big afro.  HA!!

So I decided to pair my blouse with bootcut jeans, brown sandals and hobo by Onna Ehrlich which by the way will be on sale tomorrow on Hautelook so you may want to stop by and check it out, and gold accessories.

Gray Skies

Gray Sleeveless Dress (Banana Republic), Pink Flower Pin (Forever 21), Gray Suede Pumps (Nine West), Watch Burberry via (Macy's), Handbag Givenchy via (Bergdorf Goodman), and Cape (New York & Company) not pictured, and Sunnies House of Harlow 1960 Chelsea via (Amazon).

Today I decided to wear a Gray Sleeveless Dress I purchased at Banana Republic a couple of years ago, this dress literally hung in my closet brand new with tags until this past April when I lost weight.  On a couple of occasions I almost gave it away to Goodwill and a consignment shop, but for whatever reason I couldn't.  However, after losing my weight I was able to fit into it, I so happy I didn't give it away;)

Although this is my second time wearing my dress, I wanted to wear it again for my blog and before the weather changed.  So I decided to pair my Gray Sleeveless Dress with a black skinny belt, gray suede pumps, a pink flower pin, black handbag and silver watch.

Casual Friday Attire

Striped T-Shirt (Old Navy), Blue Jeans (New York & Company), Cargo Vest (Old Navy), Brown Flats Report via (Nordstrom Rack), Tote (Gucci), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), and Renegade Cluster Bracelet via (Stella & Dot).

My outfit for today I decided to wear a Blue Striped T-Shirt, Cargo Vest, and a pair of Blue Jeans.  The forecast said the high would be 70 degrees, but to be on the safe side I chose to wear long sleeves and jeans.  I'm so anxious for fall and winter because I'm dying to see what the weather is going to be like, since it's been so weird lately.

Anyway, I bought my Cargo Vest not to long ago from Old Navy and I really enjoy styling it because I know I can pair it with different colors and probably make several outfits out of it.  So I decided to pair my Blue Striped T-Shirt with a Cargo Vest, a pair of blue jeans, brown flats, my Gucci tote, and gold accessories.
