A Peplum, Tripod, and Wireless Remote

Peplum (Zara), MNG Mango via (JC Penney), Boots (Nine West), Tote (Burberry), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Renegade Cluster Bracelet (Stella Dot), and Basilissa Pave Bracelet (Ily Couture).

I've mentioned in an earlier post that my family and I are relocating to Maryland at the beginning of next year, so my husband and I were house hunting last week, and over the weekend we got a chance to visit DC to do a little shopping for the day.  While we were out, I got a chance to visit Zara for the first time and boy was I excited, it's been on my list of stores I want to visit when we move back east. Although, I didn't spend much time in the store, I did however purchase this peplum shirt that I couldn't wait to get back home and style.  So decided to wear my peplum with a pair of bootcut jeans, black boots, my Burberry bag, and gold accessories.

Also, I finally acquired a tripod from my brother and I purchased a wireless remote for my Canon T3i Camera which I'm so grateful for because until recently I waited around for my husband or oldest son to take my photos.  Now I don't have to wait anymore.  YEAH!!  My pictures are from my first photo shoot that I took today and I think they turned out pretty good if I may say so myself:)  No one needs to know that it took me almost an hour to get my camera focused properly and a good full body shot, but I think I got it.

Gold Overlay

Today is Mani Monday, so I thought that I would show you a photo of my nails.  My base color is copper, which is a gel polish and I have a gold overlay on my ring fingers.  I enjoy getting my manicures because I'm able to switch nail colors and try new designs, I always look forward to my next manicure appointment:)  What color are your nails today?

What's in my Bag?

Today I wanted to do something a little different and talk about what I carry in my bag.  I did a post similar to this not to long ago and enjoyed doing it, so I thought that I would do it again.  The bag that I'm carrying is today is a tote by Gucci and inside my bag I'm carrying a wallet, pair of sunglasses, cell phone, pack of gum, mug sleeve, car keys, a small notebook, bottle of Aleve, and make-up case.  Now I just showed you what I carry in my bag, what do you carry in yours?

Black & White Prints

Black Blazer (New York & Company), Black & White Tee (H&M), Skinny Jeans (Old Navy), Flats AGL via (Nordstrom), Handbag Burberry via (Burberry), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Lionhead Bangle (Jewelmint), and Michael Kors Bangle via (Macy's).

The weather here in Indiana has been real funny, its cold in the mornings and warm in the afternoons, so I decided to start incorporating blazers into my outfits.  In the spring I was on a blazer kick and purchased several blazers in different colors, I enjoy dressing them up in my outfits.  On this particular day since the weather was fairly decent out I decided to wear a black blazer, pair of skinny jeans, a black & white tee, black handbag, and gold and black accessories.  My outfit was really simple, but liked how it turned out:)

It's Casual Thursday

Baseball Raglan T-Shirt (Forever 21), Skinny Jeans (New York & Company), Jacket Ana via (JC Penney) not pictured, Toms via (Nordstrom), Tote (Gucci), Watch Fossil via (Fossil), and Chain Bracelet Silver Pave (Derng).

I'm a stay at home mom and I love looking dressing up like the next girl, but sometimes it's nice to just throw on a t-shirt and pair of jeans, and today happened to be one of those days.  The weather here in Indiana seems to be doing a flip flops, it's warm one day and cold the next.  Although today was one of those cool days, I decided to wear a light jacket and scarf, but endured the cold while I took my photos:)  So, I decided to pair my t-shirt with skinny jeans, blue toms, my Gucci tote, and silver accessories.

Totes "R" Us

I don't know if you guys know this or not, but I'm a huge handbag girl, some of us girls like shoes, make-up, jewelry, and/or clothes but for me it's handbags.  I love handbags so much, I'm pretty sure I own well over hundred plus handbags from premier designers to the less expensive ones.  If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you can see on my photos that I rarely carry the same handbag 2 days in a row, I normally switch handbags daily, for whatever reason it's hard for me to carry the same bag 2 days in a row.  I know it's strange right?  HA!

However, I said all that to say, I'm officially tired of buying handbags, whether their expensive or a little less expensive, I'm tired of buying them, plus the fact I own so many:)  Since I've learned to sew recently, making handbags and totes have been on my mind lately, I mean how hard can to be?  So I decided to start looking online for easy tote and bag pattern.  After my search online I finally found one by Dana from Made, it was a tutorial called Basic Pocket Tote.   So, I made a trip to Joann's Fabric Store to pick out my fabric and accessories then came home to begin sewing on my new tote, I was even able to finish my tote in a day.  YEAH!

Here is a photo of my tote and fabric:

Mani Monday

So, I thought I would try something different and do a post on manicures.  I don't know about you, but  I love getting manicures and since Halloween is just around the corner my nails for the next couple of weeks will have a Halloween theme to them.  So, when I went to got my nails done, I wanted my base color to be black, so Opi GelColor Black Onyx was used for my base, orange glitter for the top, and star stickers on my ring fingers.  I think they look really pretty cool.

The Rock Star

Several weeks ago Old Navy came out with a line of jeans called The RockStar Skinny Jeans and The RockStar Pop of Color Jeans.  These jeans came in different colors like black, green, purple, red, marshmallow, and polka dots to name a few. So, I decided I wanted to add a splash a color to my jean collection, so one day went into the Old Navy store near my house to purchase several pair, however when I tried them on they were a little short, so I had to order my pair online, but I love the 2 colors I picked out.  You should go in store or online and check them out.

Here are a few photos of the two pair that I ordered:

Influence Conference

I've only been blogging for four months now and in the blogging community you get to hear about all of the various conferences and conventions that go on.  Well, there were several that I would have loved to have attended, but for whatever reason I couldn't.  However, keep reading about the Influence Conference, but I had never heard about it, so I immediately got on my MacBook to google them, and this is what I learned.

Why Influence?  All of us have influence and can use it to give hope through the Good News.  For you, this may be it in everyday life or through social media.   Well, not only was I impressed, but I was  inspired to purchase a ticket to attend the conference.   In my quest for finding more information about Influence, I became excited when I saw that the conference was being hosted here in Indianapolis at a local hotel not far from my house, so you know I couldn't pass it up.

Since I don't live far from the hotel, I decided I would drive back and forth to and from the hotel and that's what I have been doing.  I didn't know a soul, but prayed that I would connect with other women there at the conference and I have.  Today, was the first full day of meetings and panels, and  all of them were great and I learned a lot .  I've very glad that I decided to purchased a ticket and stepped out on faith, because so far I have been truly blessed.

PS...I'll share more of the conference after it's ended, so stay tuned...

What's in my Bag?

I thought I would do something different today and show you what I carry in my bag.  This particular bag is fairly new because I recently purchased it at H&M a couple of weeks ago.  When I first saw it hanging on the rack I couldn't believe that it was in the store, so I inquired about it and found out that it was the only one in the store.  So, you know I had to go ahead and buy it:)  When it comes to handbags I love all of them.  Which style is your favorite?

Here is my bag and the contents of my bag:  my wallet, a pair of sunglasses, makeup case, cell phone, gum, candy, notebook and pen, and mug sleeve.

Gingham Style

Yellow Gingham Top (Old Navy), Skinny Jeans (New York & Company), Flats Vince Camuto via (Nordstrom Rack), Handbag (H&M), Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), Renegade Cluster Bracelet, Devi Bangles via (Stella & Dot), Jacket and Scarf Burberry via (Burberry) not pictured.

I believe now that it is officially going to remain cold here in Indiana, why?  This morning the temperature was 37 degrees and I believe it only reached up to the middle 50's that's why.  I'm glad  I've already packed my spring/summer clothes, but I still need to unpack my fall/winter clothes.   Luckily I have enough fall/winter clothes in my closet now that I'm ok.

Anyway, I purchased my yellow gingham shirt on Old Navy online later on in the summer and I've only worn it once, but I didn't post about it.  However, since I liked the shirt so much I thought I would wear it again for my blog:)  This time I decided to wear my shirt with a pair of skinny jeans, a neutral colored handbag and shoes, and gold accessories.  Also, I wore my Burberry Jacket and scarf, but I took it off for my photos.

PS...My family and I will be moving at the beginning of the year from IN to MD.  YEAH!! My husband Aaron, accepted a position at the local hospital there in Salisbury, I'm so excited because we lived in Maryland for 3 years prior to us moving here to IN.

I will be keeping you guys in the loop about our move, thus far I've already bought boxes, started packing, and I'm slowly tidying up our house to get it ready to be put on the market.  So all my MD, DC, and VA bloggers when I get settled in we definitely have to do a meet up.

Sew Swap

For those of you who are following me know that I've been taking beginning sewing classes at Joann's Fabric Store and so far I've made 2 pillows, 2 zipper pouches, a tote, and tissue holder.  I don't by any means consider myself a pro, but I definitely enjoy sewing and seeing my finished projects.  Plus, there's nothing I like better than carrying something around I made:)

Anyway, I took the plunge and entered myself into a Sew Swap, the rules for the swap were each participate had to sew something special for their partner, then mail their gift to them.  I entered the swap because it enabled me to make something for someone else, and I had to start and finish a project in a timely fashion because there was a deadline:)

Although, I'm still wet behind the ears in sewing I made my swap partner a lovely decorative pillow.  I forgot take a picture of the decorative pillow, but I hope that she enjoyed it, I know I did because it was fun sewing it for her.  The gift I received was a lovely reusable snack bag and mug sleeve, which I absolutely love:)  This is what they look like:

Style Remix

Red Peplum (Forever21), Polka Dot Capris Jones New York via (Macy's), Flats Me Too via (Nordstrom), Hobo (Gucci), and Bracelets Isshounoyakusoku via (etsy).

Lately it's been getting pretty cool here in Indiana, but today the weather reached into the high 70's, so I thought that I would wear a pair of capris one last time until next spring.  I bought a red peplum at Forever 21 several weeks ago and I have been dying to wear it, so when I heard the weather would be really nice, knew I had to wear my polka dot capris about with my red peplum top.

I decided to wear my peplum and capris with a pair of black flats, my Gucci hobo, and black & gold accessories.
