My outfit today is a Striped Peplum Jacket I ordered recently online from Zara.  For some reason or another I have fallen head over heels in love with peplums, I suppose I love the way they look and how they fit on me when I wear one:)  Well anyway, I saw this particular peplum jacket on someone and knew that I had to buy it,  I loved that the jacket's striped, so I can style it with different colored tops.

For today, I decided to pair my Striped Peplum Jacket with an ivory peplum top, bootcut jeans, a pair of brown booties, a red tote, sunnies, and gold accessories.

Today marks my 6th month blog anniversary and it's hard to believe that I've been blogging for half a year now.  Before I started my blog I would read a hand full of blogs everyday and thought to myself, "if she can do it, so can I" and 6 months later here I am.  Of course, I didn't realize what all went into starting a blog and maintaining it, but I really enjoying doing it.  Thus far, I have no regrets and I've learned so much over the last 6 months and I hope to continue to learn even more during my blogging journey.

My outfit for today was really fun because on the front of my sweater is a picture of a cute little fox.  Old Navy recently had some really cute sweaters in store and on line and this particular sweater was one of them.  I wore this sweater a couple of weeks ago, but didn't post it, so I thought that I do so for today.  I decided to pair my sweater with skinny jeans, a pair of tall brown boots, a hobo, and brown and silver accessories.

Vegetarian Lasagna

I thought I would do something a little different today by doing a post on one of my family's favorite
meals, vegetarian lasagna.  Now, I was born and raised a vegetarian, so when I cook I only use meat substitutes when I cook for my family.  Here are the ingredients that I used for my vegetarian lasagna:

Redi-Burger Meat and Prego All Natural Roasted Garlic & Herb Sauce

Cottage Cheese, Granulated Sugar, Barilla Lasagna Noodles

First I sautéd my Redi-Burger Meat in olive oil in a skillet, then I add 2 jars of Prego Sauce to my meat and a dash of sugar.  Also, I let my meat sauce warm up for awhile on low heat before I began to layer my lasagna.  Also, typically make my lasagna in an 8 x 11 Pyrex Casserole Dish.  When my meat sauce is ready I can began my laying.  First, I cover the bottom of my dish with meat sauce, then I add 3-4 lasagna noodles, cottage cheese, a mixture of mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese.  I continue  laying my ingredients until I reach the top of my dish.  Also, I preheat my oven 350 degrees and typically keep my lasagna in the oven for 45 minutes.

Allowances

Happy Friday Everyone!  For those of you who are parents I have several questions to ask you.  Do your children receive an allowance?  If so, is the allowance giving weekly or biweekly?  What is your child's allowance giving for chores, grades or both?  I'm curious because I have two sons ages 9 and 11 who started receiving an allowance several months ago on a weekly bases and, at the beginning it was actually nice seeing both boys learning how to do chores.  However, now it seems like some of their chores have fallen off.

Now, I suppose the problem lies with me because I picked up the slack and started completing the chores for them.   Although, I know they both need to learn to continue to do their chores sometimes it's hard letting go of the reins, like the old saying, "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself,"  to me especially applies to chores.  However, I know the both boys need to learn to do chores and complete them correctly.   I will say that it's been difficult especially this week since our house is now on the market.  Although keeping it spic and span has become my full time job now that we have potential homeowners coming in to view it.  However, I know it shouldn't be an excuse for not completing chores.


As a parent at what point do you withhold your child's allowance?  If so, why did you withhold it?

Faux Fur Vest

Pink Sweater (Old Navy), Faux Fur Vest (Nordstrom), Skinny Jeans (New York & Company), Tall Boots (Nine West), Gold Watch Michael Kors via (ebay), and Chain Link Bracelet (Derng). I own a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and I wanted to add a lens to my Canon collection, so I did a little research on Canon's lens to see which would benefit me without breaking my pocketbook.  I evenutally chose the Canon EF 50mm 1:1:8 lens because I felt their reviews were fairly good and their price tag wouldn't be too hard on my wallet.  So far, I've been having lots of fun while taking pictures with my  lens. 
Although, my photos for today's shoot didn't quite come out like I thought they would, with the touch of a little button something great happened:)  I was pleasantly surprised I was able to brighten my outfit and leave my surroundings looking totally different without without my photos looking too bad:) Overall, I'm satisfied with my new EF 50mm 1:1:l8 lens and can't wait to continue to shoot better looking photos.
For my outfit today I decided to wear my faux fur vest I bought last year at Nordstrom, I absolutely color of my vest and always have fun styling it.  So today, I paired it with a wine colored sweater, skinny jeans, my Gucci tote, a pair of brown boots and gold accessories.

Mani Monday

Hello Everyone!  I hope you've all enjoyed your weekend, I know I did.  My husband and I got a chance to visit Las Vegas for the first time this past weekend and really enjoyed ourselves.  I will share more about our trip later on in the week;)  So today, I decided to do something different and link up with Heather from Glitter & Gloss for her Mani Monday.  Today my nails are painted Big Apple Red by OPI, it's one of their Gel Nail Polishes.  This particular color is one of my favorite's by OPI, I've worn it several times already, and I love the color.
