My post for today is about how I learned to sew for the first time. This evening I took a beginner's sewing class at Joann's Fabric Store and learned the basics of sewing. Here are some of the tips that I learned: where to place my thread, how to run my thread into a spool, how to run my thread around my sewing machine, where to place my spool, how to place my bobbin, then threaded my needle. I even got a chance to sew several stitches.
For you advanced sewers out there I hoped I got the steps in correct order, if not eventually I will:) I had so much fun this evening, I had to share my excitement with you guys. I also bought pretty pink fabric to practice at home:) This is want I made on my first evening of sewing:

That's some pretty fabric you bought!
ReplyDeleteI remember how excited I was when I started sewing a couple years ago. And I felt like an absolute genius when I made my first pillow case! ;)
Can't wait to see more from you :)
Thanks! Really, I plan on attending more sewing classes at Joann's. I want to learn how to make a clutch eventually and maybe some pillows. Who knows, I will probably do a post about my first sewing project.
